Green or Eco-hotels have started coming up in a big way in India. The eSvasa team had an opportunity to visit one such hotel in Bangalore, and here we present in pictures, a small summary of this beautiful place...
The Green Path Eco Hotel in Bangalore, is an apartment building which has been beautifully converted into 21 homely and tranquil apartment units with green balconies and a spacious common hall & kitchen. There are solar panels on the roof, slow food using ingredients from the garden and their own organic store, cooking gas from a biogas plant, organic personal care products in the bathrooms and water which is heated using a coconut shell fired oven!
As you walk to the lobby, it makes for a pretty sight, with lot of greenery and pots at every nook and cranny.
What makes it more interesting is that wherever in the resort you go, you can see the how seriously the management works at keeping the place 'green'. Even the visit to the terrace showed that!
A look at the herb patch and the bio gas plant...
We loved the balconies – with boundry walls strewn with tall bamboos, lemongrass and other interesting plants. It was lovely to see the balconies from the terrace and look at all the greenery growing out of it!
The team at The Green Path, led by Mr. Jayaram has done commendable work in creating and maintaining this little paradise in bustling Bangalore, and we hope to come back to it soon!
The Green Path also has an Organic Resort and an Organic Store. For details, check out their website www.thegreenpath.in
